Frequently asked questions

What is MoreGoodDays, is it just an app?

MoreGoodDays is an evidence-based pain-management program. It's made up of digital content and activities delivered via a mobile or browser-based app, one-on-one support coaching with someone who has lived experience of fibromyalgia and will help you in your journey, and access to a pain psychologist if you would like one. Based on your needs, we can also recommend other clinicians who understand chronic pain and can give you specialist support.

Does this program work?

The goal of the program is to empower you and improve your quality of life. This means improving your emotional health, physical function, and helping you re-engage in the things that matter to you. 80% of our clients tell us they experience a significant improvement in pain, level of function, and emotional wellbeing. However, we are not for anyone looking for an instant fix. Our approach addresses the root of your fibromyalgia, and introduces tools that can help you make lasting change. Gaining more control over your symptoms requires you to participate in your own healing, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.

Will the program help me if I have other causes of pain in addition to fibromyalgia?

Yes, our program is helpful for primary or secondary fibromyalgia, and any type of centrally sensitized pain (widespread, amplified, unexplained, persistent pain). Although we speak directly to the fibromyalgia experience, the tools and strategies included are best practice for chronic pain management more broadly  including specific conditions such as different types of arthritis, endometriosis, Ehler Danlos Syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis, and more.

Who are the Support Coaches and how does coaching work?

Our Support Coaches are all alumni of the MoreGoodDays program who understand first hand what it's like to live with fibromyalgia. They have learned to manage their fibromyalgia (and often other conditions) and are trained in our evidence-based approach. They are not clinicians and do not provide medical advice or recommend particular treatments.

Your Support Coach will provide a safe and positive space for you throughout your journey with MoreGoodDays. They are a skilled guide to help you navigate our tools and apply them to your life so that you get the most out of the program.

Sessions with your Coach can be conducted by phone, Zoom video calls, text messages or emails – whatever you prefer. If you would like video calls, you do not need to have Zoom downloaded, simply click the link that we provide. Your coach will also regularly check in on you throughout the week via SMS or email.

Who are the Pain Psychologists and how do the sessions work?

Our Pain Psychologists are registered psychologists who have a special interest in working with people who live with ongoing pain, as well as associated mood disorders. Sessions with a Pain Psychologist are booked in advanced and conducted over video call. They can give you tailored care and work with you through any issues that may be causing you distress and adding to your pain experience.

Who created the program?

At the core of our values lie two things: scientific rigor, and real-lived experience. For this reason, all of our content has been carefully crafted and written by expert researchers and clinicians, and by writers with lived experience of fibromyalgia or chronic pain. Our content is then peer-reviewed by a multidisciplinary team for scientific and clinical rigor. You can read about the program contributors, writers, and researchers on our About page.
